What does this map represent?
zhannawk [14.2K]

Answer:

The correct answer is C. This maps represents the triangle trade.

Explanation:

The triangular trade was a slave trade in which manufactured goods such as alcohol, metal containers, clothing and firearms were transported from Great Britain (especially Liverpool). Cargo transported in Africa was exchanged for slaves transported to America or the West Indies. The slaves were replaced with sugar, cotton, rum and tobacco. For the shipowner, the deal was risky but very profitable. Each stage was profitable and the cost of the ship could be recovered in just a few trips. The triangle trade was practiced on a full scale since the 17th century and reached its peak in the late 18th century.

Which of the following is NOT true?
sergey [27]

Answer:

Volcanoes may form at a fault where a transform fault exists is not a true statement.

Explanation:

olcThe volcanoes can be found across the globe, in most of the regions. What can be noticed though is that there is a high concentration of volcanoes a certain places, while there is much less or lacking in others. The places where there is high concetration of volcanoes are along the divergent and convergent plate boundaries, with isolated volcanic chains in the interior of the plates caused by hot spots.

The places where volcanoes are lacking, except the vast majority of the interior of the plates, are the transform plate boundaries. The reason for this is that at these plate boundaries the plates don't create a gap between each other and make the crust thinner so that magma can move toward the surface, instead, they slide past each other, thus create pressure between each other, which would make it even harder for magma to come out on the surface than in an interior of a plate.

Which of following clast sizes would be most likely transported in very fast moving water? silt cobbles sand?
Vitek1552 [10]
I would say that in very fast moving water such as in a river, the cobble size could be transported because cobbles are 64-256mm so are quite big and in a quiescent stream won't move much but in a freshet say in a steep mountain stream they can be rolled along such as I observed in the local streams at a mining town during the Hurricane Fifi in Honduras in 1974.

Which discovery made through ocean-floor mapping led to information that advanced the theory of continental drift? Question 5 op
Vadim26 [7]

Seafloor mapping during WWI and the Cold War had revealed the details of the physical structure of the ocean ridge system, and discovery of magnetic stripes on the ocean floor was the crucial turning point in development of plate tectonic theory. when deep-sea line soundings (bathymetric surveys) were routinely made in the Atlantic and Caribbean.
