Adam's dad paid £52.20.
This is considered three "parts" of the total cost.
Let's divide by 3 to find the size of one part.
£52.20 ÷ 3 = £17.40
Now, multiply by 5 (Adam's parts + his dad's) to get the total cost.
\boxed{\£87}

(I'll do it with a dollar sign cause I don't have pounds on my laptop).

- Adam's Dad pays 3/5 parts of the meal

- Adam's dad pays $52.20 that equal 3/5

- Adam pays 2/5

-Divide A's dads payment of $52.20 by 3

- That means $17.40 is 1/5

- $17.40 x 5 = $82 and that is the full meal

Done :)

Answer:

35

Step-by-step explanation:

Since all the angles are the same in this triangle, all the sides should be the same too.

Hence, 3x - 5 = 4x - 30

5 + -1x = -30

-1x = -35

x = 35

Hope this helped!

damaskus [11]

Answer:

1. What is the expected value of the game to the player?

Expected value= -$0.47368

2. If you played the game 1000 times, how much would you expect to lose?

Expected value= -$473.68

Step-by-step explanation:

1. What is the expected value of the game to the player?

Expected value can tell how much you will gain/lose every time you do the game. To find the expected value you need to multiply every value with its chance to occur. There are two types of events here, winning and losing. You have 1/38 chance of winning $315 and 37/38 chance of losing $9.

The expected value will be:

expected value= 1/38 * $315 + 37/38*(-$9) = $8.2894 - $8.7631

expected value= -$0.47368

You are expected to lose $0.47368 every time you play

2. If you played the game 1000 times, how much would you expect to lose?

Expected value calculated for each roll. If you want to know how much you gain/lose by multiple rolls, you just need to multiply the expected value with the number of rolls. The game has negative expected value so you are expected to lose money instead of gaining money. The money you expected to lose will be:

number of roll * expected value

1000 timer * -$0.47368/time= -$473.68

You are expected to lose $473.68 if you play the game 1000 times.

Which percent is equivalent to ?
AleksAgata [21]
It would be 340%. First, you need to find out what the fraction is for 2/5. 2/5 as a decimal would be .4. Next you put that back with the three which is 3.4. After that, you need to turn that into a percentage by multiplying it by 100 which then equals 340. add the % to it and that gives you 340%.
