Ms. Hendren has decided that she would like to grow some tomatoes and wants to know how much light will cause the plant to grow

the largest tomatoes. She plants tomato seeds in 4 different pots and leaves one pot in the dark. She gives 6 hours of light a day to the second, 8 hours of light a day to the third, and 10 hours of light a day to the fourth. After 3 months she measures the size of the tomatoes grown. Match up each variable in the experiment. Group of answer choices Independent varible [ Choose ] Dependent variable [ Choose ] Control variable [ Choose ] Control group [ Choose ]

Answer:

The correct answer is -

Independent variable - the amount (time period) of light given to pots.

Dependent variable - size of tomatoes

Control variable - dark or absence of light

Control group - pot placed in the darkroom.

Explanation:

The independent variable is the variable that is changed or manipulated in particular research or study to see the effect of that variable on dependent variable. In this case, the amount of light each pot gets is the independent variable.

The dependent variable is the variable that depends on the change in the independent variable. The size of tomatoes is the dependent variable here.

The control variable is the variable that remains in standard condition or condition which can be used to compare with the effect of the independent variable. The absence of light on one of the tomato pot is the control variable.

The control group is the group of subjects did not get any treatment that experiment group receives. The pot which is placed in the dark room is control group here.

B. The frame of the car is the digestive system that provides structure and support to the body.
C. The exhaust system of the car is the excretory system that removes waste.
D. The engine of the car is the digestive system that circulates nutrients to the rest of the body.
E. The oil in the car is the excretory system that protects and coats the body.

The right answer is: C and D
*The exhaust system in the car removes waste from the engine like carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and several oxidated particles that are unuseful. The same thing for the excretory system in human, it excretes urea, creatinine, and urobillongen (all are wastes from a metabolism).
*The nutrient in the car are represented by the fuel, it is the component that gives energy to the wheels to roll.</span>

Cells will usually divide if they receive the proper signal at a checkpoint in which phase of the cell cycle? see concept 12.3 (
miskamm [114]
Cells will usually divide if they receive the proper signal at a checkpoint in the G1 phase of the cell cycle. In mammalian cells , this checkpoint is called the restriction point. The G1 phase is a phase of the cell cycle that takes place in eukaryotic cell division. In this phase the cell synthesizes mRNA and proteins in preparation for the subsequent steps leading to mitosis. It ends when the cell moves into the S phase of interphase.

Leona is making lemon pudding from "scratch." Her ingredients include fat-free milk, corn starch, lemon juice, egg yolks, salt,
lisabon 2012 [21]

Answer:

The acid in the lemon juice denatured the milk proteins.

Explanation:

The important biomolecule of the living organism is protein. Proteins are made of the repeating units of the alpha amino acids that are attached together through the peptide bond.

The proteins get denatured if they are subjected to the change in the temperature conditions or the additions of the chemicals. The addition of the lemon juice that acts as the acid coagulates the protein present in the milk and results in the clump formation.

Thus, the correct answer is option (a).
