Factoring trinomials
Tcecarenko [31]

c^22c^2 + 13c +21 \\4c^2 + 13(2)c + 42\\(2c + 6)(2c+7)\\(c+3)(2c+7)

This is a way to factoring trinomials (there exist different equivalent methods).

Multiply the trinomial but the term accompanying c^2. This is the second line. Then, you could take the square of the 4c^2, ant try to create a factor () () that will correspond to the expression in the second line. That is, we want 4c^2 + 13(2) c + 42 = (2c + ?) (2c + ?)

In ? we put the corresponding numbers that, if we multiply them we will obtain 42, and if we add them we will obtain 13. This numbers are 6 and 7. Then, we have (2c + 6) (2c +7)

The last step is divide by the number that we multipy in the first step.

The charge for electricity consumption E is partly constant and partly varies as the number N of units used. The charge for 82 u
balandron [24]

The charge per unit of electricity is #415

The formula for E in terms of N is E = 375 + 40N

What is variation?

Variation is a mathematical term that establishes the relationship between quantities and variables in an equation.

Analysis:

E = K + CN

where K and C are constants

When E = 3655, N = 82 and when E = 2055, N = 42

3655 = K + 82C ---------------1

2055 = K + 42C----------------2

subtract equation 2 from 1

40C = 1600

C = 40

substitute C in equation 1

3655 = K + 82(40)

3655 = K + 3280

K = 3655 - 3280 = 375

charge per unit is N = 1

E = 375 + 40(1) = #415

Formula for E in terms of N is E = 375 + 40N

In conclusion, the charge per unit of electricity is 415 and the equation connecting E and N is E = 375 + 40N

As of a certain date, there had been a total of 14,649 performances of two shows on Broadway, with 2389 more performances of Sho
Naddik [55]

Subtract the difference:

14,649 - 2389 = 12,260

Divide that by 2

12,260 / 2 = 6,130

That is the number of shows for B.

For A add the 2,389 to the number of shows for B

2389 + 6130 = 8,519

Show A = 8,519

Show B = 6,130
