gulaghasi [49]
The equation must equal 84, so you can eliminate B and D.

Chin charges a rate for 2 hours, then charges a reduced rate for 4 hours. There are no discounts present in his rate, so you can eliminate A.

The equation for Chin's charges can be found by the equation C. 2x + 4y = 84.

A new Neighborhood Activity Complex is being built in Safe Harbor. The perimeter of the rectangular playing field is 486 yards.
siniylev [52]

Answer:

the two lengths= 194 each side

teh two widths= 49 on each side

194+194+49+49= 486

Step-by-step explanation:

486= 2l+2w

l=4w-2

486-2w=2l -divide that by 2

243-w=l

243-w=4w-2

245=5w -divide that by 5

49=w

l=4(49)-2

l=194

w=49

What is the general process for solving an equation with one variable?
elena55 [62]
Greetings!

"<span>What is the general process for solving an equation with one variable?"...

Typically when solving an equation with one variable, your objective is to isolate the variable on one side of the equation. This can be done adding/subtracting number to cancel them out on one side. You can also multiply/divide coefficients in order to isolate a variable.

Example:
</span>2x+4=64
<span>Add -4 to both sides to isolate the variable.
</span>(2x+4)+(-4)=(64)+(-4)<span>
Simplify.
</span>2x=60
Divide both sides by 2 to isolate the variable on one side.
(2x)/2=(60)/2
x=30

Hope this helps.

Answer:

Option D 3/16

Step-by-step explanation:

Carol is cross-country skiing.

With the help of the given table we have to calculate the rate of change.

If we draw a graph for distance traveled on y-axis and tins at x-axis we find two points, ( 2, 1/6) and (3, 17/48).

Then slope of the line connecting these points will be the rate of change.

Rate of change = Slope = \frac{y-y'}{x-x'}

= \frac{\frac{17}{48}-\frac{1}{6}}{3-2}

= \frac{17-8}{48}

= \frac{9}{48}=\frac{3}{16}

Option D 3/16 is the answer.
