Answer: Many patients lay inert in hospital beds, struggling with whatever condition they may be suffering such as the flu. Most years, the US death toll from the flu is closer to 34,000 to 43,000. Globally, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that the flu kills 290,000 to 650,000 people per year. And many people can not afford treatment or do not have the proper medical help when their condition is severe.

Vitek1552 [10]

Answer and Explanation:

1. The article presents the central idea that video games can intensely improve people's mental and cognitive abilities. This is because this type of game promotes strong brain stimulation, reinforcing logical reasoning, memory, reflection, concentration and quick thinking.

2. The text presents examples of people who have benefited from the practice of playing video games. This develops the theme efficiently, showing the application of the central idea in real life, showing evidence that the central idea of the article is true.

3. "Whitout a doubt they have benefited me," said Reman Rivera, a student at the University of Chicago, who says his academic quality and high marks were the result of the amount of video games he played in childhood and adolescence. This quote is important, because it shows that the arguments are real and applicable to ordinary citizens.

Why might Spiegelman have titled chapter 1 “Mauschwitz”?
inna [77]

Answer:

Spiegelman dwells on his own life for the majority of this chapter, and maybe that is why he named it Mauschwitz; because he knew he would be concentrating on his own life and relationships more than his father's story, and calling the chapter Auschwitz would not be appropriate, even though we are given a first glimpse
