My friend had wanted to go play a game so we stopped to play pool BALL. Both of us were so tired afterwards that we just walked BY everything at the fair.On out way out of the fair there was a little kid BAWLING his eyes out. My friends decide to give the little kid a prize she had won earlier. In the car on the way home we both had said we were hungry so we decided to go back to my house to eat something . When we got there there was only CERIAL to eat. While eating we wanted to watch a SERIAL about how candy is made.My friend had to leave at the end of the show.I couldn’t drive her home since she lived to far away so she took a bus and I gave her money for the FARE.This day was the most find day we had both had in awhile.

What details in the poem provide evidence that it is set during the Klondike Gold Rush in Canada and Alaska? Cite at least three
melisa1 [442]

Three details from the poem that serve as evidence that it is set during the Klondike Gold Rush in Canada are:

- "the land of gold"

- "we were mushing our way over the Dawson trail"

- "Till I came to the marge of Lake Lebarge"

  • The poem "The Cremation of Sam McGee" does not mention the Klondike Gold Rush in Canada directly.
  • However, there are may moments in the poem where the speaker reveals details that show the poem is set during the Gold Rush.
  • The speaker talks of a "land of gold" to refer to the Yukon region in Canada, where gold was discovered in 1896.
  • He mentions the Dawson trail and Lake Lebarge, which are both in Canada. The lake, more specifically, is located in the Yukon region.
