You wouldn’t be able to just remove sadness, it would be all your emotions. it would be the removal of the amygdala. i don’t think anyone would ask for the removal of their emotions but it is possible

I am not sure of removing the part of the brain but there was an incident where a man got a rod in his head which penetrated through memory part of the brain but he still survived
