Answer:

She believes in adherence to societal expectations.

Explanation:

Oscar Wilde's comedy play "The Importance of Being Ernest" revolves around the story of two men, Algernon "Algy" Moncrieff and John "Jack" Worthing. The play follows the men through their desire to enjoy some excitement in their lives, for which they made up names and identities to be able to enjoy some 'downtime'.

In the given excerpt of the play, the character of Miss Prism is revealed to be the one who placed Jack in the bag. But when jack revealed the truth and called her<em> "mother"</em>, Miss Prism <em>"recoil[ed] in indignant astonishment"</em>. This reaction seems to suggest that she believes in strict adherence to society's expectations, especially of women. That was why she did not really acceptable to be called <em>"mother"</em> as she's still <em>"unmarried."</em>

Thus, the correct answer is the third option.

Hey can someone tells me what happens in act 5 in Macbeth with good detail please I have a test soon on it
kap26 [50]

Answer:

When Act 5 opens, Lady Macbeth is tossing and turning in her bed. She seems to be reliving the horrors she and her husband committed in her nightmares. Lady Macbeth, while sleepwalking, regrets and shows anxiety over the murders she and Macbeth have committed. She tries numerous times to wipe the blood off her hands until she succeeds. All the embarrassment she has ever felt is shown here. At the end of Act 5 of the play, Lady Macbeth is a mere shell of the person she once was. When you first meet her, she is thin, white, and shaky. The fact that she sleepwalks and talks to herself may tell us something about her mental health and well-being.
