Answer is B
Since we have a right-Angled triangle the formula is
Area A (16)+ Area B(9)= Area C(25)
Or;
a^2 +b^2 =c^2
Hope this helps!

A person on a moving sidewalk travels 40 feet in 8 seconds. The moving sidewalk has a length of 200 feet. How long will it take
beks73 [17]

Answer:

The man covers 200 ft in 40 seconds.

Step-by-step explanation:

A person is moving on the sidewalk from one end to the other end.

He walks 40 feet in 8 seconds.

Therefore his speed = \frac{distance covered}{time}

                                   = \frac{40}{8}

                                   = 5 ft/s^{2}

He covers the sidewalk distance at a rate of 5 feet every second.

To calculate the time taken to cover 200 ft,

time = \frac{distance to be covered}{speed}

time =\frac{200}{5}

<u>time  = 40 seconds</u>

Hence the man covers 200 ft in 40 seconds.

A teacher assigns a score from 1 to 4 to each student project. the table below shows the probability distribution of the scores
Mashutka [201]

The score which is assigned from 1 to 4 by the teacher to each student for the project and is most likely to be is 3 with 0.48 probability.

<h3>What is probability distribution?</h3>

Probability distribution is the statistical model which represent all the achievable and similar values of a random variable that it can possess in a specified range.

A teacher assigns a score from 1 to 4 to each student project. the table below shows the probability distribution of the scores for a randomly selected student.

  • Probability distribution score:      1,       2,       3,       4,
  • x probability: p(x)                      0.06,  0.20,  0.48,  0.26

In the above data, the height probability of selection is 0.48. This probability belongs to the score 3.

Thus, the score which is assigned from 1 to 4 by the teacher to each student for the project and is most likely to be is 3 with 0.48 probability.

1. A report from the Secretary of Health and Human Services stated that 70% of single-vehicle traffic fatalities that occur at n
Nuetrik [128]

Using the binomial distribution, it is found that there is a 0.7215 = 72.15% probability that between 10 and 15, inclusive, accidents involved drivers who were intoxicated.

For each fatality, there are only two possible outcomes, either it involved an intoxicated driver, or it did not. The probability of a fatality involving an intoxicated driver is independent of any other fatality, which means that the binomial distribution is used to solve this question.

Binomial probability distribution

P(X = x) = C_{n,x}.p^{x}.(1-p)^{n-x}

C_{n,x} = \frac{n!}{x!(n-x)!}

The parameters are:

  • x is the number of successes.
  • n is the number of trials.
  • p is the probability of a success on a single trial.

In this problem:

  • 70% of fatalities involve an intoxicated driver, hence p = 0.7.
  • A sample of 15 fatalities is taken, hence n = 15.

The probability is:

P(10 \leq X \leq 15) = P(X = 10) + P(X = 11) + P(X = 12) + P(X = 13) + P(X = 14) + P(X = 15)

Hence

P(X = x) = C_{n,x}.p^{x}.(1-p)^{n-x}

P(X = 10) = C_{15,10}.(0.7)^{10}.(0.3)^{5} = 0.2061

P(X = 11) = C_{15,11}.(0.7)^{11}.(0.3)^{4} = 0.2186

P(X = 12) = C_{15,12}.(0.7)^{12}.(0.3)^{3} = 0.1700

P(X = 13) = C_{15,13}.(0.7)^{13}.(0.3)^{2} = 0.0916

P(X = 14) = C_{15,14}.(0.7)^{14}.(0.3)^{1} = 0.0305

P(X = 15) = C_{15,15}.(0.7)^{15}.(0.3)^{0} = 0.0047

Then:

P(10 \leq X \leq 15) = P(X = 10) + P(X = 11) + P(X = 12) + P(X = 13) + P(X = 14) + P(X = 15) = 0.2061 + 0.2186 + 0.1700 + 0.0916 + 0.0305 + 0.0047 = 0.7215

0.7215 = 72.15% probability that between 10 and 15, inclusive, accidents involved drivers who were intoxicated.

Suppose that start-up companies in the area of biotechnology have probability 0.2 of becoming profitable, and that those in the
Aleks04 [339]

Answer:

<u>The probability that both companies become profitable is 0.03 or 3%.</u>

Step-by-step explanation:

1. Let's review the information given to us to answer the question correctly:

Probability of biotechnology start-up company of becoming profitable = 0.2

Probability of information technology start-up company of becoming profitable = 0.15

2. Assume the companies function independently What is the probability that both companies become profitable?

We will answer this question, assuming these are independent events, this way:

Probability that both companies become profitable = Probability of biotechnology start-up company of becoming profitable * Probability of information technology start-up company of becoming profitable

Replacing with the values given, we have:

Probability that both companies become profitable = 0.2 * 0.15 = 0.03

<u>The probability that both companies become profitable is 0.03 or 3%.</u>
