so first off for the ratios

if you were to find them on a graph, you would want to find a slope. The slope is your ratio pretty much

if you were to find them for a table, you would have to see what the question is asking. if it asking like what is the amount of people vs animals per square mile, you would find people on the table and then go down to square mile as opposed to square feet or some other variable. Then you will put what they are asking first and then what they are asking second. here ill show you an example if it is to confusing what i just said. if there are 50 animals per square mile and 150 people per square mile, and the question asked you what is the ratio between people and animals, you would answer 150/50, BUT you have to simplify. 3/1 would be you answer.

next off for the transformation

if there was a triangle at the points 5,3|4,6|5,5| and you wanted to translate it 5 units up and 6 units to the left, all you do is think about this. up and down are changes in the y, left and right are changes in the x axis. left and down are negative changes, up and right are positive changes.

so you would apply that thinking to ALL the points. it would look something like the picture below.

finally, for the shaded area of figures

lets take a abstract figure. say that we shade the upper left hand corner, and it will look something like the picture below. If you want to find the area of the figure, you would have to isolate it. Then you would multiply the width by the length and get 2.

i really hope this helps on your exam. good luck!

Area of a triangle = 1/2(B*H)

Greta is trying to determine the portion of green candies in various bags of green and yellow candies. Using the information bel
IrinaK [193]

Answer: a) \dfrac{1}{3} b) \dfrac{71}{100} c) \dfrac{5}{9}

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

There are green and yellow candies in each bag.

Bag A: Two thirds of the candies are yellow. What portion of the candies is green?

Part of yellow candies in bag A = \dfrac{2}{3}

Part of green candies in bag A would be

1-\dfrac{2}{3}\\\\=\dfrac{3-2}{3}\\\\=\dfrac{1}{3}

Bag B: 29 % of the candies are yellow. What portion of the candies is green?

Percentage of candies are yellow = 29%

Portion of candies are green is given by

1-\dfrac{29}{100}\\\\=1-0.29\\\\=0.71\\\\=\dfrac{71}{100}

Bag C: 4 out of every 9 candies are yellow. What portion of the candies is green?

Portion of yellow candies = \dfrac{4}{9}

Portion of green candies would be

1-\dfrac{4}{9}\\\\=\dfrac{9-4}{9}\\\\=\dfrac{5}{9}

Hence, a) \dfrac{1}{3} b) \dfrac{71}{100} c) \dfrac{5}{9}

Two cards are dealt at random from a standard deck of 52 cards. What is the probability that the first card is a King and the se
34kurt

Answer:

1 / 51

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that :

Number of cards in a deck = 52

Number of heart suit = 13

Number of kings = 4

Recall:

Probability = (required outcome / Total possible outcomes)

P(first card is king) = 4/52 = 1/13

P(second card is heart) = 13/51

Hence,

P(first card is king) * P(second card is heart)

(1/ 13) * (13/51) = 13 / 663 = 1/ 51
