Answer:

Median: 25

Upper quartile: 30

Lower quartile: 20

IQR: 10

Step-by-step explanation:

The nice thing here is they already put them in order :)

16, 18, 20, 22, 24,    26, 28, 30, 32, 34

For the median, it's the middle number of the ordered data set. Unfortunately here, there is an even number of entries. In that case, we average the middle two numbers, 24 and 26. 24 + 26 = 50/2 = 25

For lower quartile/Q1, you take the middle number of the bottom half of the data set. Bottom half: 16, 18, 20, 22, 24...so the middle is 20

For the upper quartile/Q3, you take the middle number of the top half of the data set. Upper half: 26, 28, 30, 32, 34...so the middle is 30

For interquartile range/IQR, you calculate the range from third to first quartile: 30-20 = 10

Please lmk if you have questions.

An environmentalist wants to find out the fraction of oil tankers that have spills each month.Step 1 of 2:Suppose a sample of 47
torisob [31]

Answer: The proportion of oil tankers that had spills is \dfrac{156}{474} or 0.329.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Number of tankers is drawn = 474

Number of tankers did not have spills = 318

Number of tankers have spills = 474 - 318 = 156

Proportion of oil tankers that had spills is given by

\dfrac{Containing\ spill}{Total}=\dfrac{156}{474}=0.329

Hence, the proportion of oil tankers that had spills is \dfrac{156}{474} or 0.329.
