You eat the turkey sandwich on wheat bread with mayyonaise using your mouth the salivary gland produce a hormone to help your mouth chew and it breaking down into a pieces to ensure that it would be fit to your esophagus. then when the food enter on your esophagus a narrow long tube connected to your mouth a peristalsis a smooth tissue will help to narrow down the food towarda your stomach and then when the food reach your stomach your stomach undergo a series of reaction first your stomach breaking down the food into a little pieces and mixed it with a strong gastric juice to extract the proteins and the raw materials needed by your body (then it is different discussion for today) your stomach need to process your food up to 6 hrs of digestion after that the food will become a feces this will enter to the small intestine and to the rectum and then to the anus.

Define gas exchange and distinguish between a respiratory medium and a respiratory surface
algol13

Answer: Hope this helps

GAS EXCHANGE: the intake of Oxygen and the expulsion of Carbon dioxide. In the capillaries of the alveoli, oxygen travels due to the concentration gradient into those capillaries. Carbon dioxide is then expelled from those capillaries.

RESPIRATORY MEDIUM: is air for animals and water for fish. It is basically the substance through with living animals receive their oxygen.

RESPIRATORY SURFACE: is where the gaseous exchange takes place. The oxygen and carbon dioxide move across the respiratory surface entirely by diffusion.

For both actin and microtubule polymerization, nucleotide hydrolysis is important for?
Karo-lina-s [1.5K]

For both actin and microtubule polymerization, nucleotide hydrolysis is important for controlling the growth of a microtubule.

Polymerization dynamics enable microtubules to adopt rapidly changing spatial arrangements and, in some cases, perform mechanical tasks according to cellular needs. Microtubules harness the energy of GTP hydrolysis to drive a unique polymerization mechanism called dynamic instability.

Microtubules are one of the main components of the cytoskeleton and are rigid hollow rods approximately 25 nm in diameter. microtubules. are made up of dimers of α- and β-tubulin which polymerize to form microtubules, which are composed of 13 protofilaments assembled around a hollow core.

Which of the following is true regarding how epithelial tissue and connective tissue relate to each other?
MariettaO [177]

Answer:

d. Unlike epithelial tissue, which is composed of cells closely packed with little or no extracellular space in between, connective tissue cells are dispersed in a matric

Explanation:

There are four primary types of tissues in living organisms. Epithelial and connective tissues are two of those four types of tissues. Epithelial tissues are made up of closely packed cells that serve functions such as absorption, secretion, protection, etc while connective tissues are composed of cells, ground substance, and protein fibers that serve supportive functions.

The cells of epithelial tissues are so closely packed to one another that there is hardly space in their extracellular matrix for materials. However, on the contrary, connective tissues are made up of cells that have room for large quantities of extracellular matrix. Hence, the cells that make up connective tissues are dispersed into matrix.
