Battle cards is one of my favorite games, and it’s really easy to play. First, two players divided entire deck of cards so that

each has 26 cards. Next, both players pull three cards off the tops of their decks, revealing the third card. The winner of the round is the player with the higher card. (Aces are high.) players continue counting three cards and then revealing the last card in to one player has all the cards in his or her deck and is declared the winner. It’s it’s that simple. Now, who wants to play?
Which statement best describes how text structure contributes to the development of ideas in this passage?

A. The chronological structure allows the reader to create a mental picture of how the cards should be placed on the table.

B. The chronological structure helps the reader understand the steps involved in playing the game.

C. The cause-and-effect structure shows the reader what strategies a player should use in order to win the game.

D. The cause-and-effect structure gives the reader insight to which cards are the most valuable.

Letter B. This part of the presentation is proposing a solution to the problem. Stating that cities and states taxed sugary beverages at a higher rate serves as a solution or probably a suggestion to what a state/city can do so that people will be encouraged to make healthier choices by preferring less costly drinks.

Which excerpt from O’Connor’s "Good Country People" contains an example of irony? Joy was her daughter, a blonde girl who had an
VladimirAG [237]

Answer:

"Nothing is perfect. This was one of Mrs. Hopewell's favorite sayings. Another was: that is life! And still another, the most important, was: well, other people have their opinions too. "

Explanation:

Irony is a literary device used when a character, or even the narration, says the opposite of what I really believe and think. An example of this can be seen in the text shown in the question above, in the lines "Nothing is perfect. This was one of Mrs. Hopewell's favorite sayings. Another was: that is life! And still another, the most important, was: well, other people have their opinions too. "

These lines were spoken by Ms. Hopewell, this is because she says that her daughter should not care what people say or think about the mechanical leg she uses, however Ms. Hopewell herself feels sorry for her daughter and ended up saying something contrary to what I really wanted to say.
