Answer:

y = 9

Step-by-step explanation:

When the line crosses y-axix,  x-co ordinate = 0

y = -4*0 + 9

y = 0 + 9

y = 9

Make g the subject p=5gh
balandron [24]
When rearranging or transposing an equation, you always have to try and get the letter you want on its own by doing the opposite of each step on both sides. In this case it is g:

p= 5gh

Because g is being multiplied by 5 and h, you'd want to divide by 5 and h to get g on its own: (division is represented by the slashes / ).

p= 5gh/5h

Now you can cross off 5h completely from the right side of the equation because they cancel out.

p/5h = g

Because you did that, you have to do it on the other side too so that is why it is P/5h on the left.

So g = p divided by 5h.

Hope that helped!!!

The polynomial of degree 3, P(x), has a root of multiplicity 2 at x=4 and a root of multiplicity 1 at x=−2. The y-intercept is y
Sedbober [7]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

P(x) = a(x - 2)2(x + 4), a ≠ 0

Use the given point (0,-10) to find a.

-10 = a(0 - 2)2(0 + 5) = a(4)(5) = 20a

a = -10/20 = -1/2

P(x) = (-1/2)(x - 2)2(x + 5)

You can expand this if you wish

A classmate simplifies the expression in exercise 1. is the expression he wrote equivalent to the original expression? explain.
AlladinOne [14]
Excercise 1:

No, this is not simplified fully. The full answer would be <span>−7dk+14d−21k</span>−7, not <span>14d - 9 - 21k - 7dk + 2. So, it is not equivalent.
</span><span>
Excercise 4:
</span><span>7dk (2 - 3 - 1) - 7
</span>
Just multiply 7dk into (2) (-3) and (-1)
you'd get:
<span><span>−<span>14dk</span></span>+</span>−<span>7 after simplifying it fully.
</span>
p = parameter
w = width

w+2.75

p = 2w+2(w+2.75) = <span>4w</span>+<span>5.5 = 30

Answer to the last one:

w = 6.125</span>

A van travels 150 miles on 6 gallons of gas. How many gallons will it need to travel 325 miles?
shtirl [24]
<h3>Answer:  C) 13 gallons</h3>

============================================================

Work Shown:

(150 miles)/(6 gallons) = (325 miles)/(x gallons)

150/6 = 325/x

150*x = 6*325 .... see note below

150x = 1950

x = 1950/150 .... divide both sides by 150

x = 13 gallons is the final answer

-----------

Note: in this step, I cross multiplied. The general template for cross multiplication is that we go from A/B = C/D to A*D = B*C. As the name implies, the "cross" refers to the "X" shape that forms when you multiply the terms.
