2. PART B: Which quote from the text best supports the answer to Part A? A. “One notable gap in the evolving literature on bully

ing and victimization during early adolescence is the role that peers play in promoting bullying and victimization by either reinforcing the aggressor, failing to intervene to stop the victimization, or affiliating with students who bully.” (Paragraph 1) B. “Research indicates, for example, that toughness and aggressiveness are important status considerations for boys, while appearance is a central determinant of social status among girls (Eder, 1995).” (Paragraph 3) C. “For example, changing from one school to another often leads to an increase in emotional and academic difficulties (Rudolph et al., 2001); bullying may be another way that young people deal with the stress of a new environment.” (Paragraph 5) D. “Instead, recent studies and media reports suggest that there are groups of students who support their peers and sometimes participate in teasing and harassing other students.” (Paragraph 9)

The game of lacrosse seems complicated to me. How does the word complicated function in the sentence? A.predicate nominative B.i
salantis [7]
What I think is C. predicate adjective.
Because complicated is used as an adjective in that sentence.
Can't be A because nominative is mostly used for subject.
Can't be B because complicated is adjective and not noun.
Don't know the last one though, but I'm sure that it's not the answer.

krek1111 [17]

Answer:

Mencius said, "There are five things which in common practice are considered unfilial. The first is .... The second is chess-playing and fondness for wine, without attending to the support and care of one's parents. This second thing supports Wang's view that between father and son reproof is the greatest offence against that tenderness which should subsist.

Explanation:

In the same connexion, Mencius says: "There   are five things which are commonly recognized to be unfilial. The first is laziness about employing legs and arms, resulting in failure to support parents. The second, gambling and chess-playing and fondness for wine, with the same result. The third, prizing goods and money and selfish devotion to wife and children, with the same result. The fourth, giving way to the temptations that assail one's eyes and ears, thus bringing his parents to shame. The fifth, reckless bravery, fighting and quarrelling, endangering thereby the happiness and the support of one's parents." (Bk. iv., pt. ii., c. xxx., v. 2.)
