Give the correct literary devices for the following expressions.
maksim [4K]

Answer:

1.Hyperbole

2. Metaphor

6. Simile

Explanation:

I'm not really sure of the rest but, metaphor is to say something is. Simile is like or as. Hyperbole is like an over exaggeration. It could also be verbal irony which is saying something you don't really mean, but I'm pretty sure that it's Hyperbole. The Lit Devices are: Hyperbole, Foreshadowing, Theme, Dramatic Irony, Verbal Irony, Metaphor, Simile. If you look up the meanings to those it should help. I hope I was helpful somewhat

Why do you think dickens chose to introduce oliver in a workhouse? how does this choice affect the story that follows? support y
Sever21 [200]

Oliver Twist was written there was no welfare state and so there was practically nothing as mechanisms for dealing with the poor as we know them today. The mortality rate for childbirth was very high this is one of the main problems that are presented throughout the novel.

How does this choice affect the story that follows?

Oliver Twist is born and raised in a life of poverty and tragedy in a workhouse in the fictional town of Mudfog, located 70 miles to the north of London.

From the depictions of workhouses and baby farms, we can see Dickens is expressing great concern for the social aspects of the time. The fact that the story initially is set on the baby farm later on the workhouse wants to centre our attention on the social injustice inherent at the time. We can see this is a depiction of some of the ideals of Dickens in a struggle for a more equal society.

As is expressed in the story “Some people are nobody's enemies but their own”― we can infer there is a lot of concern from the author dealing with the idea societies should be more equal.

Thus, this could be the answer.

What fallacy does this argument use? an ad hominem attack an appeal to emotion a false dilemma a bandwagon appeal
amid [387]

Answer:

There’s a saying in brain science based on the work of Donald Hebb: neurons that fire together, wire together. The more they fire together, the more they wire together. In essence, you develop psychological resources by having sustained and repeated experiences of them that are turned into durable changes in your brain. You become more grateful, confident, or determined by repeatedly installing experiences of gratitude, confidence, or determination. Similarly, you center yourself increasingly in the Responsive, green zone – with an underlying sense of peace, contentment, and love – by having and internalizing many experiences of safety, satisfaction, and connection.
