If triangle RST = triangle NPQ, then RT is congruent to ?. . a.NP. b.NQ. c.PQ. d.QP
lapo4ka [179]
If the triangles are given to be congruent, the corresponding angles and corresponding sides should have the same measure and lengths. From the given, side RT is congruent to side NQ. Therefore, the answer to the question is letter B. NQ.

Can someone solve this Im to lazy !
Sladkaya [172]
Not impressed that you consider yourself "too lazy" to at least get started on the solution of this problem.  Why not "give it the old college try?"

Start by  choosing letters to represent the unit cost of each popcorn and drink:
p:  popcorn, d:  drink.

Then 2p + 3d = $22.25 and 12p+4d=$39.00
Note that the unit of measurement of all 6 terms here is " $ ".

Solve this system of linear equations simultaneously:

2p + 3d = $22.25
12p+4d=$39.00

In your shoes I would mult. the first equation by -6 and then combine the result with the second equation.  p will temporarily disappear, and you'll be left with an equation in d only, enabling you to find the unit cost of a drink.

Come on.  Show your stuff.  You'll need to respond through Comments.

Calculus 2: I need help with u substitution and intergration by parts. Can someone help me understand the concept?
snow_lady [41]

Computing an integral by substitution is the reverse of the chain rule for computing the derivative. Substitution is intended to rewrite a complicated-looking integral involving the derivative of some component expression as another much simpler integral. For example, if u=f(x), then \mathrm du=f'(x)\,\mathrm dx and

\displaystyle\int f(x)f'(x)\,\mathrm dx=\int u\,\mathrm du

###

Integration by parts is the reverse of the product rule for derivatives:

(f(x)g(x))'=f'(x)g(x)+f(x)g'(x)\implies f(x)g'(x)=(f(x)g(x))'-f'(x)g(x)

Integrating both sides with respect to x gives

\displaystyle\int f(x)g'(x)\,\mathrm dx=\int(f(x)g(x))'\,\mathrm dx-\int f'(x)g(x)\,\mathrm dx

\displaystyle\int f(x)g'(x)\,\mathrm dx=f(x)g(x)-\int f'(x)g(x)\,\mathrm dx

###

Personally, I think the best way to grasp the idea behind the two methods is to practice. You start to notice patterns to the point where knowing which is the "right" method to use becomes second nature.
