Gigantism is a condition caused by excessive secretion of STH(somato trope hormone) before puberty. Individuals reach heights of about 2 meters.

Dwarfism(hypophyseal dwarfism) is caused by hyposecretion of STH before puberty. Individuals reach heights of about 1,20-1,30m

Oduvanchick [21]

Answer:

The correct option is B. aldosterone

Explanation:

In organisms the most important electrolytes from the point of view of their concentration, therefore, of their osmotic effect, are the sodium and potassium ions. Aldosterone is a hormone produced by the adrenal glands, it helps to control blood pressure and it maintains healthy levels of sodium and potassium in the blood, preserving the balance of body fluids and allowing nerves and muscles to function well. The renin hormone, produced by the kidneys, normally stimulates the adrenal glands to release aldosterone.

Which of the following describes the relationship between population growth and the underground water supply?
Natali5045456 [20]

D

Usually, with increased population growth, there is a direct increase in demand for resources such as water.

Explanation:

When the demand for water by the population overwhelms the supply from surface sources such as lakes and rivers, underground water is taped. Boreholes are sunk to reached water aquifers.

However, drawing underground water more than it is replenished by precipitation, lowers the water table. As a consequence deeper boreholes have to be sunk to reach more underground water.  A critically lowered water table can result in drought in the region.
