"Ellis Island Oral History Project" features the accounts of several immigrants about their arrival and the way they were received on Ellis Island. One of these immigrants is Gertrude (Gudrun) Hildebrandt Molher who is treated very kindly when she arrives on the island and is welcomed by the settlers, even if some of them did not show hospitality. She is grateful for the settlers who treated her kindly, even though they were all strangers to each other.
