When given a raw score, explain how to use the normal curve to compare that score to the population.
damaskus [11]

Assuming you know the mean (mu) and the standard deviation (sigma), you would use the raw score (x) to get the z score through this formula

z = (x-mu)/sigma

If you get a positive z value, then the raw score is above the mean. If z is negative, then the raw score is below the mean.

The absolute value of z tells us how far away from the mean we are in terms of standard deviation.

Eg: z = -3 leads to |z| = |-3| = 3, so we're 3 standard deviations below the mean.

How do you solve for a side in a right triangle that has a hypotenuse of 10, an angle of 35, and the side across from the angle
goblinko [34]

\sin \theta = \dfrac{\textrm{opposite}}{\textrm{hypotenuse}}

\sin 35^\circ = \dfrac{x}{10}

x = 10 \sin 35^\circ

That's the exact answer; they usually want a calculator approximation at this point,

x \approx 5.735

Answer:

π/4, 3π/4

Step-by-step explanation:

3tanx = 3

tanx = 1

Basic angle: π/4

Find the area of an equilateral triangle with radius 5√3 m. Leave your answer in simplest radical form.
nevsk [136]
In an equilateral triangle the radius of inscribed circle is equal to
r= \frac{a \sqrt{3} }{6}, so
5 \sqrt{3} = \frac{a \sqrt{3} }{6} and
a=30.
The area of this equilateral triangle is A= \frac{a^2 \sqrt{3} }{4} =\frac{30^2\cdot \sqrt{3} }{4}=225 \sqrt{3} square units.
