Why is mass a better unit for measuring matter than weight?*
SIZIF [17.4K]

Answer:

Because mass is constant, while weight depends on gravity.

Explanation:

For example, your mass on Earth will be the same as your mass on planet Mars. Your weight however, will change depending on the force of gravity exerted on you.

How do the pollutants that cause acid rain get into the air?
Kazeer [188]
For example driving cars, they release nitrogen and sulfur in the water vapor. This causes the water vapor to be more acidic. So then When the precipitation falls back to the Earth it comes down as acid rain.

Why does the enzyme trypsin get deactivated when introduced in the gastric juice of the stomach?
svetoff [14.1K]
In my Biology Honors Class, they taught about gastric juice, or also known as    (p H) which is formed by stomach glands, is very acidic and can seriously mess up enzyme trypsin functions. After all, enzymes are a type of catalyst that help break down food, which means that enzymes are a sort of digestive acid as well. Hope this helps!

What happens in animal cells when mineral concentration is high and low in solution
slamgirl [31]

Answer:

Diffusion occurs when there is movement of minerals from an area of higher to lower concentration, till equilibrium is obtained.

Whereas Osmosis is the movement of solvents rather then the solute, from a solution of lower to a solution of higher concentration with the help of semipermeable membrane.

Explanation:

Diffusion is the movement of substances from area of higher concentration to an area of lower concentration of minerals, which mainly results in animal cells. Whether solute or solvent, diffusion occurs for both. Diffusion does not requires any semi permeable membrane. Diffusion occur in all state of matter, that solid, liquid and gas, whereas osmosis occurs only in liquid state. Osmosis requires semipermeable membrane and rate of which is related to concentration of solute dissolution in solvent medium. Only movement of solvent medium takes place. Classical example of osmosis is exhibited by cell membranes of animal cells. On the other hand diffusion is the spreading of perfume or fragrances to the external air.
