After the Franco-Prussian of 1871, Bismarck and his military presence marched in Paris and announced the German Empire's ambition and creation to Europe at Versailles. After winning a war against Emperor Napoleon III's Armies, Bismarck made sure that Germany was on the World Stage and was becoming a major power in Europe. It worked, as the defeated French start to grow sour relations with the Germans. The British, Russians and Austro-Hungarians start to take notice of the new mighty German Empire that Bismarck had carefully created through Blood and Steel.

The US stock market had crashed on October 29, 1929, marking the beginning of the Great Depression. Millions of Americans lost their jobs, banks declared bankruptcy, and thousands of companies broke.

Under these critical conditions, President Roosevelt wanted to directly communicate and inform the American people about the situation and his programs to offer solutions. These programs were the known as the New Deal, and through the use of the radio, he permanently informed the citizens about the advances.
