Given:

Radius of the cylinder = 5 in

Height of the cylinder = 30 in.

To find:

The surface area of the cylinder.

Solution:

The surface area of the cylinder is:

SA=2\pi r^2+2\pi rh

Where, r is the radius and h is the height of the cylinder.

Putting r=5,h=30,\pi=3.14 in the above formula, we get

SA=2(3.14)(5)^2+2(3.14)(5)(30)

SA=2(3.14)(25)+942

SA=157+942

SA=1099

Therefore, the surface area of the cylinder is 1099  square inches.

A person owes $1000 on a credit card that charges an interest rate of 2% per month
adelina 88 [10]

Credit card balance each month:

First month: 1020 .00

Second month: 1040.4 0

Third month: 1061,208

Fourth month: 1082.43

Here we have to calculate the interest and add it to capital.

That is, 2% of 1000

First month:

    Interest = 1000 (2/100)

    Odds1 = 1020

Second month

Capital 1020

    Interest = 1020 x 0.02 = 20.4

    Odds2 = 1040.4

Third month

Capital = 1040.4

    Interest = 1040.4 x 0.02 = 20.808

    Odds3 = 1061,208

Fourth month

Capital = 1061,208

   Interest = 1061.208 x 0.02 = 21.22

   Odds = 1082.43

Therefore the credit card balance each month:

First month: 1020 .00

Second month: 1040.4 0

Third month: 1061,208

Fourth month: 1082.43

Marian went shopping and bought clothes for $66.17 and books for $44.98. She then had a meal at the mall for $20.15. Which is th
scZoUnD [109]

Answer:

Either 130 or 131 would be acceptable.

Step-by-step explanation:

When we estimate, we do not use exact values.

66.17 is close to 66

44.98 is close to 45

20.15 is close to 20

Add the estimates together: 66+ 45+ 20 = 131

We could also estimate 66.17 to 65 which would give us an estimate of 130

Helen walk 2 3/4 miles per day. Bill run's 10 miles every 4 days. In 4 days, who runs the longest distance
Gennadij [26K]
Helen runs the longest distance in 4 days.

Helen (In 4 days): 2.75 x 4 = 11

Bill (In 4 days): 10

11 (Helen) > 10 (Bill), so therefore Helen runs the longest distance in 4 days.
