According to Alexis de Tocqueville, why was egalitarianism a key to the United States’ success as a constitutional republic
kvasek [131]

According to Tocqueville egalitarianism was key to the success of the United States as a constitutional republic in that, when citizens that are equal fight for their freedom and independence, against power, their only chance is for them to combine forces. In this sense he saw democracy as a perfect equilibrium between freedom and equality.

Definition of homefront? What is a homefront? I looked it up on the dictionary, but I have no idea. And where was the homefront
vredina [299]
Imagine that a country is fighting a war abroad: they need to have supplies sent to them. Those supplies need to be produced somewhere, and they're usually produced by the people back home, who also contribute to the war effort, but are not directly fighting. Those people are on the home front: at home but fighting.

For Canada, the home front would be in Canada.

How have technological developments caused societal change throughout history?
9966 [12]
One example of how technology has caused social change includes the creation of the assembly line and interchangeable parts. The assembly line and interchangeable parts resulted in the ability of businesses all over the world to mass produce items. In order to mass produce items, businesses need unskilled workers to be able to repeat tasks constantly within a work day. This caused an increase in the demand for unskilled workers.

This demand for unskilled workers provided millions of job opportunities for immigrants coming into the US, especially during the late 19th and early 20th century. Along with this, the development of the assembly line and interchangeable parts indirectly leads to urbanization. This was a massive movement of families from the countryside to the city in order to seek new job opportunities as factories.
