The word frantically was used two times between lines 60-79 in the Greek myth titled, "The Flight of Icarus". Frantic means being overcome with excitement, pain, fear, anger, or other emotions. The first time the word was used, it conveyed the feeling of excitement as Icarus was enthusiastic and eager to carry himself higher and higher into the heavens itself.

The second time the word was used, it was used to convey how nervously he tried to stay afloat in the air. He called on his father who could not do much to help him. In this second usage of the word, there was a shift to a tone of dread.
