Answer:

C. The word is first used to create an excited tone and changes to a tone  of dread.

Explanation:

The word frantically was used two times between lines 60-79 in the Greek myth titled, "The Flight of Icarus". Frantic means being overcome with excitement, pain, fear, anger, or other emotions. The first time the word was used, it conveyed the feeling of excitement as Icarus was enthusiastic and eager to carry himself higher and higher into the heavens itself.

The second time the word was used, it was used to convey how nervously he tried to stay afloat in the air. He called on his father who could not do much to help him. In this second usage of the word, there was a shift to a tone of dread.

Why does wulfgar request that the Geats leave their weapons outside the hall ?
DochEvi [55]

Answer:

The correct answer is because the hall is not a place of war.

Explanation:

The question refers to Beowulf, an Old English epic poem that has more than 3000 alliterative lines; it is considered as one of the most important works in English language; the estimated date of composition is between 975 and 1025 and the writer is unknown.

The Geats had to leave their weapons because The Hall is considered a place of communion and not for war.

What information should you gather when you preview a text?
IRISSAK [1]

Answer: If the text is nonfiction, readers look at text features and illustrations (and their captions) to determine subject matter and to recall prior knowledge, to decide what they know about the subject. Previewing also helps readers figure out what they don't know and what they want to find out.
