I believe that no it doesn’t violate any first amendments freedom. It would depend what age the child is. If the child is from the ages 1-12 they would have to do what the parent says. If the child is 13-17 I believe they should have the choice to believe their own religion

the answer is "<em>yes forcing your child to participate in a religious activity does violate the first amendment. it states that you should be able to have a freedom of speech and religion."</em>
