The social pressures that contributed to English colonization of north America had to do with religious, politics and economics matters. Bearing in mind that religion was the main factor contributing to the English migration, the Puritans fled to America from England to gain their religious freedom.

The closest answer would be D, but these colonists were very Puritan and didn't like how the church was being run at all, so they moved to an entirely different country to get away from it. They wanted major changes in church practices, but that would never happen, so they went away and started their own society which followed their own values.
