Answer:

The time the two planes will meet is 1.43 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

Given;

speed of the first plane in positive direction, = 40 mph

speed of the second plane in negative direction(opposite direction) = -100 mph

distance between the two planes = 200 miles

Let the time the two planes will meet = t

the position of the first plane at this time "t" = 40t

the position of the second plane at this time "t" = -100t

(40t)>--------------------------------<(-100t), this space between them is 200 miles.

Thus, the difference in the distance they traveled before meeting should be equal to 200 miles.

40t - (-100t) = 200

40t + 100t = 200

140t = 200

t = 200 / 140

t = 1.43 hours

Therefore, the time the two planes will meet is 1.43 hours

Which of the following is the equation of a circle whose center is at the origin and whose radius is 4?
leva [86]

Answer:

x²+y²=16

Step-by-step explanation:

the general equation for a circle is given as :

(x−h)²+(y−k)²=r²

where (h, k) is the coordinate of the center of the circle and r is the radius

in this case h=0, k=0 and r = 4

equation becomes

x²+y²=4²

or

x²+y²=16

Suppose that E and F are two events and that Upper P (Upper E and Upper F )equals0.3 and Upper P (Upper E )equals0.5. What is Up
m_a_m_a [10]

Answer:

P(\frac{F}{E}) =\frac{0.3}{0.5} =0.6

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Step 1</u>:-

Suppose that E and F are two events and that P(E n F) = 0.3

also given P(E) =0.5

<u>Conditional probability</u>:-

if E₁ and E₂ are two events in a Sample S and P(E₁)≠ 0, then the probability of E₂ , after the event E₁ has occurred, is called the <u>Conditional probability</u>

of the event E₂ given  E₁ and is denoted by

P(\frac{F}{E}) = \frac{P(EnF)}{P(E)}

P(\frac{F}{E}) =\frac{0.3}{0.5} =0.6

suppose a charity received a donation of $22.8 million. if this represents 58% of the charity's donated fund, what is the total
Mrac [35]
The total amount is "x", so, if 22.8 is 58%, "x" is the 100%,

\bf \begin{array}{ccllll}&#10;amount&\%\\&#10;\text{\textemdash\textemdash\textemdash}&\text{\textemdash\textemdash\textemdash}\\&#10;22.8&58\\&#10;x&100&#10;\end{array}\implies \cfrac{22.8}{x}=\cfrac{58}{100}\implies \cfrac{22.8\cdot 100}{58}=x
