It is commonly discovered more in women than in men as it has time limits following some stressful event, and only retrograde losses. Memory loss includes personal experiences, generic memory abilities remain in intact. Medicaly, it has been reported that reatment for dissociative amnesia involves anxiolytic medications and supportive psychotherapy.
