You are having lunch with an elderly friend when suddenly he begins to experience chest pain and tightness. He reaches into his

pocket, gets out one of his nitroglycerin tablets and quickly takes it. After the episode passes, your friend asks you how the nitroglycerin helps his angina. You explain that nitroglycerin gets converted by cells to nitric oxide (NO) causing the smooth muscle cells of the blood vessel to relax and increase blood flow to the heart.
He pushes you for a more detailed explanation, so you explain further that __________.

Answer:

The generation of nitric oxide is done by almost every kind of cell present in the human body, it is one of the essential constituents that plays an important function in maintaining proper health of blood vessels. The nitric oxide acts as a vasodilator, that is, it relaxes the blood vessels' inner muscles, thus making the blood vessels to broaden.

Therefore it can be concluded that nitric oxide enhances the flow of blood and thus reduces the blood pressure. In this manner, nitric oxide helps in tackling the symptoms of conditions like angina.

At the molecular level. the activation of guanylyl cyclase is done by nitric oxide, which further catalyzes the production of cGMP. This cGMP further functions as an intracellular messenger in a pathway that results in the relaxation of the smooth muscles.

Which is true of DNA viruses?
Maksim231197 [3]

Answer:

They use host cell machinery to produce new copies of their genome.

Explanation:

DNA viruses, which are similar to cells, directly employ cellular machinery to perform their process of replication, transcription of their genes, and DNA repair, that is, they use a host cell to make new copies of their genome. Because of this, some viruses have a large genome, such as herpesviruses, which make their own genes and become somewhat more independent of cell metabolism.  DNA molecules are found in two forms: linear and circular. Viruses of the polyomaviridae family have small genomes and circular DNA, while herpesviruses have linear dsDNA genomes. Viruses that have single strand genomes do not allow DNA repair.

A facility would like to verify each individual's identity prior to allowing access to its server room and datacenter. Additiona
yKpoI14uk [10]

Answer:

C. Implement a biometric reader at the datacenter entrance and require passage through a mantrap.

Explanation:

The first step this installation should do is to limit access to only authorized persons. The safest way to do this is to use a biometric reader at the datacenter entrance, so in addition to just entering authorized persons, it would be possible to verify each individual's identity before allowing access to the server room and datacenter. The facility should also use a mantrap to separate safe areas from unsafe areas, so it can also limit access to the facility and decrease the chances of users tailgate behind other uses.

Renewable resources are those that can be synthesized by humans. Please select the best answer from the choices provided T F
quester [9]
No, this is false!

Renewable resources can be syntesized by humans, or not: some of them can, and some can't. This is not what makes them renewable, instead it's the fact that they will still be present in the nature after usage - they will be replaced (the sun will still shine tomorrow even if we harvest its power).
