How did the Border Ruffians contribute to the "Bleeding Kansas" problem?
vfiekz [6]

The Border Ruffians contribute to the "Bleeding Kansas" problem "as they forced local residents to vote for pro slavery candidates".

Answer: Option B

Explanation:

The Border Ruffians were Missouri slave-state pro-slavery demonstrators. They crossed the state border from the period 1854 -1860 to Kansas Territory as to compel slavery to be recognized there. Armed Ruffians intervened with territorial elections and hitted settlements in the Free State. The term "Bleeding Kansas" originated from this violence.

Bands of armed Ruffians occupied polling places when elections were held in Kansas Territory. They prohibited people from voting for Free-State, so they cast illegal votes. Border Ruffians voted a territorial delegate pro-slavery to Congress on 29 November 1854.

Why did the athenians choose officials by lottery?
pickupchik [31]
Athenians picked the individuals from the chamber every year in a lottery. They trusted this framework was more pleasant than a decision, which may support the rich. In an immediate majority rule government, the general population settle on the approach activities straightforwardly. The significant choices of the state were made by general gatherings in which all residents could take part. In 507 B.C.E. demokratia, or "govern by the general population" was presented as a progression of political changes by the Athenian pioneer Cleisthenes.

Many people had opposing viewpoints toward employment insurance during the 1930s. what did president roosevelt most likely mean
kkurt [141]
Roosevelt was indicating that he wanted to protect American workers (with unemployment insurance), but was not encouraging that persons receive government handouts as a perpetual way of life ("the dole").

The expression, "being on the dole," came into use in Britain after World War I, as slang for receiving unemployment benefits, or money being "doled out" by the government. Frances Perkins, who became Secretary of Labor for the Roosevelt Administration, recalled how Roosevelt had included that line already in a speech as a candidate for the presidency in 1932. She noted that Roosevelt's words were subtly attractive to voters. When he said, "I am for unemployment insurance but not for the dole," it signaled a commitment of his candidacy toward helping the unemployed. "It created a great interest and a great enthusiasm among the voters," she said, and they worked to get such ideas into the Democratic Party's national platform.

Incidentally, Frances Perkins was the first woman to serve in a cabinet position for the US government.
