Slope of  line that passes through two points:  m=\dfrac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

(2, -5)    ⇒    x₁ = 2,  y₁ = -5

(-4, 1)      ⇒   x₂ = -4,  y₂ = 1

\bold{m=\dfrac{1-(-5)}{-4-2}=\dfrac{1+5}{-6}=-1}

<u>Any line with a slope of -1</u> is parallel the line that passes through the points

(2, –5) and (–4, 1)

A) What equation is used to find the vertex form of a parabola with the vertex (h, k)?
VikaD [51]
Y=ax2+bx+c . In this equation, the vertex of the parabola is the point (h,k) . You can see how this relates to the standard equation by multiplying it out: y=a(x−h)(x−h)+ky=ax2−2ahx+ah2+k .

Arada [10]
A machine can print 30 t-shirts in 1 min., because the ratio of time to shirts is 300 shirts per 10 mins and 30 per 1 is 1/10 of that.
