In Amaterasu, how do Susanowo’s actions affect the advancement of the plot? He causes the other gods to gather. He causes Amater
matrenka [14]

The correct answer is: He causes Amaterasu to take away the sun.

In Japanese mythology, Amaterasu, the goddess of the sun is one of the creations of the divine couple Izanagi and Izanami, along with Tsukyomi, the god of the moon and Susanoo, the god of storms and the sea.

Susanoo is said to have offended Amaterasu, causing Izanagi to expel him from heaven. Before leaving, Susanoo went to bid farewell to his sister, who doubted his intentions. To prove his sincerity, Susanoo proposed a challenge in which they both took an object belonging to the other and from it, birthed deities.

Susanoo lost the challenge since his sword only produced three men while Amaterasu's necklace created five women.

After his defeat, he went on a rampage destroying much of the heavenly and earthly realm, Amaterasu's rice fields and killing one of her attendants in a fit of rag.

Amaterasu, grieving and enfuriated, hid in a cave, plunging the earth into darkness and chaos.

what is the opportunity cost of going to college rather than starting working immediately after high school
NeX [460]

if you choose not to attend college, one likely scenario would be you picking up a job. Say you get a job out of high school for $35k per year. After four years you’ve earned about $140k (without any increases in wage or bonuses).

What happens if you go to school? Let’s assume your yearly tuition and expenses is $30k and you choose to put your head down and graduate within four years. Let's say you choose to stay completely focused on school and do not work while in college.

After four years you are out $120k right? Well… yes, but this is where opportunity cost comes in. Because you chose to go to college instead of working, your opportunity cost is actually the sum of your college expenses plus the money you could have earned had you chosen not to work. Your opportunity cost to attend college is $260k.

Can someone please briefly describe these characters from Much Adu about Nothing?
riadik2000 [5.3K]
  • Don Pedro - Is the prince of Arragon.
  • Claudio – is the lover of Hero and is also a soldier.
  • Benedick – Is a friend of Don Pedro and Claudio.  He is also a heroic soldier.
  • Beatrice – Is the niece of Leonato.
  • Hero – Is the Daughter of Leonato.
  • Don John – Born out of wedlock, he is brother of John Pedro.

Explanation:

  • Don Pedro is also friend of Claudio and plays a major role in life of Hero and Claudio.  He is quick to believe people and ends up putting himself into trouble.
  • Claudio is the soldier working along with Don Pedro.  He is in love with Hero.  When he returns from war, he hears and believes the rumors about Hero’s unfaithfulness and is quick to take revenge on Hero.
  • Benedick has a good sense of humor and is witty.  He is aware of Beatrice love towards him.  He is portrayed as a woman hater, who is bent on not marrying, but it not afraid to change his mind when he realizes Beatrice’s love towards him.
  • Beatrice is portrayed as opinionated and is not afraid to speak her mind.  Once in love with Benedick is now quite apathetic towards him and is often against him trying to put him down with her words and sarcastic comments.
  • She is also cousin to Beatrice.  Portrayed as having a comely character, she is also generous.  She falls victim of Don John’s plot and goes against Don Pedro and Claudio- her lover. She is also portrayed as easily forgiving Claudio after he repents for calling her unfaithful.
  • Since he is the illegitimate child, he has not access to the family’s wealth and hence is against his brother.  He plays the role of a villain and plots a conspiracy against Hero and Claudio.
