Answer:

Clothes: New York men wore shirts, breeches and boots, while the women wore dresses, aprons, bonnets, petticoats and shoes. Girls and women generally did the cooking, cleaning and other household work, while the men would hunt, make tools and work in the garden.

Food: The colonists had a simple diet of varieties of fruits and vegetables. Breakfast consisted of milk and bread. For most people breakfast consisted of milk, bread, and cornmeal mush or bread and milk together with tea.

Houses: The first colonists lived in square pits, like cellars, that were covered with wood and bark. These simple shelters protected them from the elements until they could build basic cottages. Once New Netherland became more established, colonists built better wooden and later stone and brick houses.

What was one way Stalin made sure his people were loyal???
s2008m [1.1K]

He would send those who were opposing him to Gulags.

Explanation:

  • The BBC writes that 14 million people went through the gulag of "labor camps" from 1929 to 1953.
  • An additional 6 to 7 million were deported and exiled to distant parts of the USSR, and another 4-5 million went through " labor colonies, ”which meant serving shorter  time sentences.
  • The total population in the camps varied from 510,307 (1934) to 1,727,970 (1952).
  • According to a 1993 study of Soviet archives, a total of 1,053,829 people died in the gullies from 1934 to 1953.
  • These estimates exclude those who died shortly after their release, and whose deaths were the result of cruel treatment in the camps; such cases were common. Studies that take these cases into account for the same time period report a figure of 1,258,537, with an estimated 1.6 million from 1929 to 1953.
