Second piece = 3 1/6 ft long

Third piece = 3 1/6 feet long

how long was the board?

Total length of board = first piece + second piece + third piece

= 2 5/6 + 3 1/6 + 3 1/6

= 17/6 + 19/6 + 19/6

= (17+19+19) / 6

= 55/6
