Answer:

2 \: and \: 1

Step-by-step explanation:

(1 + x) + (1 - x) \\ = (1 + ( - 2)) + (1 - ( - 2)) \\ = ( - 1) + (3) \\ = 2 \\ \\ x - (x - 1) \\ = ( - 2) - (( - 2) - 1) \\ = - 2 + 2 + 1 \\ = 1

Part A: Solve −np − 70 < 40 for n. Show your work. (4 points) Part B: Solve 4w − 7k = 28 for k. Show your work.
kondaur [170]
Hey!

For part A, let's write the problem,
-np-70\ \textless \ 40
Add 70 to both sides...
-np-70+70\ \textless \ 40+70
-np\ \textless \ 110
We are going to reverse the inequality, to do this we are going to multiply both sides by -1.
\left(-np\right)\left(-1\right)\ \textgreater \ 110\left(-1\right)
pn\ \textgreater \ -110
Divide both sides by p.
\frac{pn}{p}\ \textgreater \ \frac{-110}{p}
Our answer would be,
n\ \textgreater \ -\frac{110}{p}

Let's go with Part B. Let's write the problem,
4w-7k=28
Subtract 4w from both sides,
4w-7k-4w=28-4w
-7k=28-4w
Divide both sides by -7.
\frac{-7k}{-7}=\frac{28}{-7}-\frac{4w}{-7}
If we simplified it, we would be left with,
k=-\frac{28-4w}{7}

Thanks!

A youth group and their leaders visited mammoth cave. 2 adults and 5 students in one van paid $77 for the grand avenue tour of t
11111nata11111 [884]

Answer:

Adult price for tour is $16 and Student price for tour is $9.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the Cost of Adult be x.

Let the Cost of Student be y.

Now Given:

2 adults and 5 students in one van paid $77.

Hence the equation can be framed as;

2x+5y=77 \ \ \ \ equation \ 1

Also Given;

2 adults and 7 students in one van paid $95.

Hence the equation can be framed as;

2x+7y=95 \ \ \ \ equation \ 2

Now Subtracting equation 1 from equation 2 we get;

(2x+7y)-(2x+5y)=95-77\\2x+7y-2x-5y=18\\2y=18\\\\y=\frac{18}{2} =\$9

Now Substituting the value of x in equation 1 we get;

2x+5y=77\\2x+5\times9=77\\2x+45=77\\2x=77-45\\2x=32\\\\x=\frac{32}{2}=\$16

Hence Adult price for tour is $16 and Student price for tour is $9.

hichkok12 [17]

Answer: 32

Step-by-step explanation: ok so here is what i do for those I grab a caculator (desmos online caculator i like to use but not required) then ill do (1/2×x)+4 but then once i write that i go back to the x delete the x and keep putting random numbers in higher and higher by one till the i get the answer (example: for this one i wrote that than i removed the x in it and did 1/2×5+4 then when that did not equal 20 i turned the 5 into a 6 then 6 was wrong so 7, then 8, then i just skipped to 20 then 20 was still wrong so skipped to 30, 30 was also wrong but CLOSE so then i tried 31 then 32 till the answer was 20 and when i did 32 it did say 20) hopes this helps
