Answer:

I love going to the zoo with my dad. Many of the animals are cool and we like looking at them, especially lions because they are really big and strong. Big animals cause no harm when they are locked up in cages. My father says that animals at the zoo are very well taken care of and that I shouldn't worry about them.

When the general had said ""you have won the game."" Were there any alternatives to killing Zaroff?
romanna [79]

Answer:

Killing should never really be considered to be justified whether in a work of fiction or not; however, Rainsford was in a position of kill or be killed. The whole thing is a case of kill or be killed, essentially self defense. I guess it depends on how you view that type of thing, but in my opinion, if Rainsford had not killed Zaroff, then he would have undoubtedly died. Therefore, yes I believe he was justified in his decision.

As with all interpretive questions, your answer is based upon your own reading of the story and how you analyze the plot and characters. Rainsford had escaped Zaroff, and won the game. There was no reason to return to the masion and kill Zaroff except to exact revenge. Consider that Rainsford himself is a hunter, used to being in power. Although he had never considered doing something as inhumane as Zaroff in hunting humans, his choice to kill Zaroff reveals his need to be in control. In this case, his killing of Zaroff isn't about justice, but about revenge.

On the other hand, there is nothing to suggest Zaroff would have quit hunting humans. He was a static character, who didn't change even when he "lost" the hunt of Rainsford. In this reading, the audience can interpret that Rainsford is doing his part for mankind by eliminating the threat of the murderer Zaroff. After all, on this island, there is no justice system by which to prosecute him.

You will need to choose the answer that best supports your understanding of the characters.

Which examples are simple sentences?
mario62 [17]

Reading novels is one of the greatest pleasures in my life. Some call reading fantasy and science fiction a form of escapism. One of the best ways to learn about history is by reading historical novels.

A simple sentence contains only one clause with a subject and verb phrase. In the first sentence, "reading novels" is the subject and "is" is the verb. In the second sentence, the subject is "Some" and the verb is "call". In the third sentence the subject is "One" and the verb is "is".

The other sentences don't work because in "What a person reads can tell you a lot about him or her" there are two verb phrases "reads" and "can tell'.

In the sentence "Reading books can take you places that you have never been before" there are also two clauses: "Reading books can take you places" and "you have never been before."

Susan B Anthony was women who didn’t just want to sit down and let men control who she was. Susan was a crusader for women’s suffrage and she wouldn’t give up without a fight. My impression of Susan B Anthony is very Good because as I said before she stood up for not only herself, but all other women who didn’t have the courage to say what they wanted to say or they were all just to scared to say it.

The Author’s presentation of Susan B Anthony is very realistic and believable in my opinion because the Author shows off Susan’s strengths, such as her way of speaking. One of Susan’s many Strengths was her Speeches, from what I read in the text, Susan had a lot on her mind and said it in a way that stirred up the crowd. The Author also shows Susan’s weakness which was mostly the law. The law was trying to keep Susan B Anthony silent as well as all other women. One way the Author shows this is when Men try to stop her at different times throughout the text, or Men seem to be looking down on her in the text.

The Author brings out more of Susan B Anthony’s personality by showing us in his writing how compassionate Susan is about her speeches, or how fair she is to everyone. Susan B Anthony was a great leader, and even though what she wanted to believe still didn’t come true, I know that she inspired all other women to start to stand up for themselves and not let anyone keep them down any longer. Susan B Anthony may not be here, but the fight for Women’s rights still continue. The flame that she has helped sit has yet to die down. Her fight will live on in history!

Note (Do not copy and paste this): What I wrote has exactly 307 words. I apologize if what I wrote is not to your liking or is not really accurate to this text you talked about. Since I really didn’t have a text or reading to go by I couldn’t really add in examples from the text but I tried my best to make it seem like that. Anyways, bye.
