Answer:

B. There are no producers in the benthic zone that relay on photosynthesis.

Explanation:

There are no producers present in the benthic zone because benthic zone is located in higher depth where there is no sunlight so no photosynthesis occurs there. We know that photosynthesis only occurs in the presence of sunlight, if there is no sunlight then there is no photosynthesis occurs and as a result no producer can survive there so we can conclude that there is no producers present in the benthic zone .

Briefly explain how producers, herbivores, carnivores, omnivores, and scavengers are related in an environment.
Harlamova29_29 [7]
Producers are very important to ecosystem reason being without the producers we would not be able to survive. Producers make their own food by use of sun which turns simple raw materials into food.
Herbivores are consumers who eat only green plants. Omnivores eat animals and plants. Scavengers only eat dead organisms. Scavengers help the environment in that they eat dead organisms and decomposes the broken organic material down to the raw material.

IrinaK [193]

Answer:

functional groups

Explanation:

Functional groups are molecules with specific atoms and have their own chemical properties when attached to some other substances. Glucose is a simple sugar and has an aldehyde group (CHO) as its functional group. The presence of CHO in it makes it be present in food without any harmful impacts. On the other hand, hexanoic acid has COOH (carboxylic group) as its functional group. COOH group has a tendency to donate its protons and become ionized. It is toxic as it is reactive and tends to affect the pH of the food or solution in which it is present.
