If mitochondria works properly, homeostasis will be maintained whereas if there is any defect occurs in the mitochondria then the whole homeostasis will be adversely affected because mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell responsible for the production of energy for the cell. Symptoms occurs due to Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy (LHON) also effected the state of equilibrium in the body.
