Why are sinkholes one major environmental risk of underground mining? (1 point)
zheka24 [161]

Sinkholes one major environmental risk of underground mining because, Underground mines may collapse after mining is complete, which causes sinkholes.

Explanation:

The movement that occurs on the surface of the ground is known as mine subsidence. This is mainly caused due to the collapse that happens in the cola or any clay mining works that occurs in the underground surface. When anything is extracted form the underground surface, some holes are made in the underground surface which are sinkholes.

The damages that are caused as a result of this can be claimed by Mine Subsidence Insurance Policy. This type of underground mining is very dangerous as it give rise to the formation of sinkholes. This is forms when there is collapsing of the surfaces in the underground occurs after the completion of the mining work.

What does the term strain mean as it is used in genetic crosses
LUCKY_DIMON [66]

In biology, the strain is a low-level taxonomic rank used in different contexts:

In microbiology, a strain is a part of a bacterial species different from other bacteria of the same species by a minor but identifiable difference. Strains are often created in the laboratory by mutagenesis existing strains or wild-type examples of bacterial species.

In zoology, a strain corresponds to an individual or group of individuals who are at the origin of a line of descendants, sometimes called the holotype, paratypes, etc. A strain is a population of organisms that descends from a single organism or pure isolate culture. Strains of the same species may differ slightly from each other in many respects.

A strain thus consists of a group of organisms of the same species possessing certain differential traits based on their relationship; either they come from the same region, as the same watershed of a river, or they are the fruit of a particular breeding program (exists as a whole interbreeding without introductions from external sources).

Discuss the relationship between mitosis and cytokinesis. What would be the result if one happened withother the other?
s344n2d4d5 [400]
Mitosis can only happen with cytokinesis. Mitosis is the process in which a cell goes through to produce two new cell nuclei. Cytokinesis is when the cytoplasm splits. Without cytokinesis, mitosis would still happen but it would create 2 nuclei in one cell. And if cytokinesis happened and mitosis did not then the cell would most likely not survive.
