The phrases related to warm fronts and cold fronts include the following:

  • Warm Fronts - bring gentle, long-lasting rains.

                                 slide over the top of existing air mass.

                                 shown as red half circles on map.

  • Cold fronts - bring heavy storms.

                              force existing air up into atmosphere.

                               shown as blue triangles on map.

<h3>What are Cold fronts?</h3>

This is a cooler mass of air which replaces the warmer mass and usually have low pressure.

Warm fronts on the other hand replaces the cold air with the appropriate properties of both fronts being seen above.
