Its an abs value so you have to solve twice. Once for d - 3.5 < or equal to 1.5 which equals 5. You also have to solve for d - 3.5 > or equal to -1.5 which equals 2. So on the graph it has to be less than 5 and greater than 2 so you just connect the two and draw the line over the numbers in between the 2 and 5.
