Answer:

For Native Americans, the War of 1812 was a desperate struggle for freedom and independence. Native Americans became involved in the conflict to secure British support for their own war against the United States. Led by Tecumseh, they played a key role in defending Canada. Most Native American tribes during the War of 1812 sided with British because they wanted to safeguard their tribal lands, and hoped a British victory would relieve the unrelenting pressure they were experiencing from U.S. settlers who wanted to push further into Native American lands in southern Canada and in the ... The conflict forced various Indigenous peoples to overcome longstanding differences and unite against a common enemy. ... It also strained alliances, such as those in the Iroquois (Haudenosaunee) Confederacy in which some branches were allied with American forces. But no matter which side they fought on, Native Americans were negatively impacted. They were left out of peace talks and lost additional land. After the war, some Americans retaliated against those Indian tribes that had supported the British. Britain effectively won the War of 1812 by successfully defending its North American colonies. • Liberia's attempt to be admitted to the US in 1900 failed, but US protection helped Liberia in the early XX century. in addition to Ethiopia, it was the only politically free country on the African continent.
