What are, in your opinion, the reasons why Harriet Martineau's sociological ideas about marriage, children and Women's domestic
loris [4]
The main reason, in my opinion, that Martineau’s work in sociological areas of marriage, children, and domestic life were ignored is that, during that time, there was not a want or a need for change. Women were seen as not to be above their stations and there was absolutely no need for them to think, much less even ACT upon the ideas that Martineau put forth. While it’s true that Queen Victoria herself was a fan, most of the ideas put forth by women at this time were strictly ideas and were never, ever thought to be put in practice, but to just help them “get through it.” It is only recently that her ideas have been recognized by sociologists all around the world as scholarly. Remember—during the time, women were not meant to be scholarly past playing the piano forte.

Hope this gives you a springboard to jump off of.

alexandr1967 [171]

A reinforcer that allows a student to escape from an unpleasant situation is called a negative reinforcer.

A reinforcer is a person who guides and influences the future behavior of an individual. The act of reinforcing the good or bad is called reinforcement.

Negative reinforcement refers to the process by which the reinforcer takes away the student from any unpleasant situations and helps him escape. However, continuing this method might affect the behavior of the student, and he might take it for granted that anytime he does something unpleasant, he will be saved by someone. Due to this negative effect, this reinforcer is called a negative reinforcer.

Positive reinforcement helps the student to understand the situation and handle it on his own. It teaches him the independent manner of behavior.
