Describe a process by which an ethnic food can be modified as it spreads from its country of origin

Answer and Explanation:

As it spreads across a country, a medical food can be adapted with new ingredients, more common in each region. This modification can also be done through the different types of storage of this food that each region presents that ends up modifying the flavor and appearance of that food. Finally, the modification of the ethnic food can be modified through its denomination, adopting local and more common names for each region.

An example of this can be seen in Brazil, where an ethnic food is called "munguzá" in the north of the country and is called "canjica" in the south of the country. The ingredients of this food also change according to the availability of the region. Northern Brazil has a high availability of corn, which is the main ingredient of this food, so this food is made with fresh corn recently harvested. The south of the country does not have this availability and ends up making this food with processed corn, which was harvested a long time ago and has undergone an industrial conservation process. This completely changes the taste of the food.

Hi anyone able to explain fully about the continental-continental plate convergence ? I’m a little confused , thanks!!
PilotLPTM [1.2K]

Answer:

1. Continental-continental convergence are both continental crust plates.

2. Buoyancy basically means these plates are light float on top of the Asthenosphere.

Explanation:

1. To go a little more into detail, this type of convergence ocurrs when two plates made of continental crust (not oceanic) collide. In the case of ocean-continent convergence, the denser oceanic crust sinks underneath the lighter continental crust.

In this scenario, we have two plates, neither of which want to sink, so instead of going down they just crumple and fold and keep colliding. This collision creates very high mountain ranges such as the Himalaya and usually doesn't contain any volcanic activity because no magma is capable of penetrating through so much crustal material.

2. As for why continental crust is buoyant and doesn't sink has much to do with its composition. Continental crust is made mostly of silicate material. This is very different from oceanic crust which is made of basaltic rocks and is therefore heavier. The term buoyancy refers to the 'floating action' of the continental crust on top of the uppermost mantle.
