Suppose Tetha = alpha = 26°

Then ;

\tan( \alpha )  =  \frac{y}{x}  \\

\tan(26°)  =  \frac{8}{x}  \\

0.487 =  \frac{8}{x}  \\

Multiply sides by x

0.487x = 8

Divide sides by 0.487

x =  \frac{8}{0.487}  \\

x = 16.427

x≈ 16.43

X-2y=4. -3x+5y=-3. solving linear systems using multiplication and addition show your work
mote1985 [20]
-3x+5y=-3
3x -6y= 12
Multiplied the first equation by 3 so the x's will cancel.
Adding the two equations we get
-y=9
y=-9
Now plug y back in to either equation and solve for x. x-2(-9)=4
x+18=4
x=-14
(-14,-9)
