Evaluate whether or not the catholic church in the 1600s was opposed to new ideas in science
olya-2409 [2.1K]

Explanation:

The 15th century was mentioned as the time during which the people began to doubt the teachings of the spiritual scriptures and want to know the truth. This led to the evolution of science and scientific ideas in various parts of the world. This is known as the time of the intellects.

The experimenters like Copernicus concluded that the Sun is the centre of the Solar system which opposed the ideas of the teachings of the Bible which said that Earth was the centre. The catholic church criticized him for his new ideas.

Later Galileo represented his ideas of the pendulum, speed of falling objects, the telescope findings, astronomical findings and was also criticized earlier but later he used to publish the new ideas in the form of books.

Such evidence shows that the catholic church was against scientific ideas as people can begin to question the teachings of the Bible.

The napoleonic code reflected what idea of the French revolution?
Novay_Z [31]
That a strong central government was needed instead of classes that wielded power over the poor. The Revolution did away with the 3 estates in which the nobility and clergy lorded heavily over the common people. Napoleon expanded on this, strengthening the central government and attempting to strengthen the economy instead of holding it in one area of the populace.

Why did some states choose bicameral legislatures?
Pani-rosa [81]
Most states choose a bicameral legislature over a unicameral legislature because 2 houses divide the power in a bicameral legislature. ... In a unicameral legislature, there is only one house and its members are solely elected by the people. The unicameral legislature is believed by some to be more democratic.
