ANSWER ASAP GIVING BRAINLIEST FIVE STARS AND HEART!
emmasim [6.3K]

Answer:

Checks and balances: The system of checks and balances in government was developed to ensure that no one branch of government would become too powerful. The framers of the U.S. Constitution built a system that divides power between the three branches of the U.S. government—legislative, executive and judicial—and includes various limits and controls on the powers of each branch.

Separation of powers: The system of separation of powers divides the tasks of the state into three branches: legislative, executive and judicial. These tasks are assigned to different institutions in such a way that each of them can check the others. As a result, no one institution can become so powerful in a democracy as to destroy this system.

How did great britain exert significant influence in china during the late 1800s?
aniked [119]
Britain influenced China by establishing a British government in Hong Kong, in its quest for opium and fine products from Asia. Great Britain and some European countries began the trade of opium paying with gold for this one, since the European products had a low demand in China; this was part of the trade imbalance with China. There was a huge demand in Europe for Chinese tea, silks and porcelain pottery, which led to two wars, called the Opium Wars, in which China lost and had to accept the terms of Europe, while its population began to become addicted to opium. The British way of life and the addiction to opium, plus intervention in the Chinese government, only ended with the arrival of the Communists.
