- We have resources to sustain all of our needs

Explanation:

In order to be independent, a country need to be able to produce all varieties of goods that are needed for the people to survive. United States possess all of those resources, even the ones to fulfill the tertiary needs. Ranging from Crops, animal products, metals, woods for housing, etc.

On top of that, United States possess rugged mountains and oceans that we can use as a natural barriers to set up a military base that can be utilize to repel invaders.
